SNIPEF The Plumbing Industry Licensing Scheme was established in 2002 to increase the professionalism of the plumbing industry. A number of partner organisations were involved in its development including Scottish Water, the Scottish Consumer Council and the Northern Ireland Consumer Council, the Chief Officers of Trading Standards in Scotland and the Scottish Association of Chief Building Control Officers amongst others. NICEIC The NICEIC is the industry's independent, non profit-making, voluntary regulatory body covering the whole of the United Kingdom. The NICEIC's sole purpose is to protect consumers from unsafe and unsound electrical work. Gas Safe Register What is Gas Safe Register? Gas Safe Register exists to protect you, your family, and your property from dangerous gas work. Incorrectly fitted, badly repaired or poorly maintained gas appliances are a major cause of lethal carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning, and can also lead to gas leaks and explosions. To carry out work on gas installations and appliances safely and legally, engineers in Great Britain and the Isle of Man must be on the Gas Safe Register. We make sure the 120,000 engineers on the register are safe by inspecting the gas work they have carried out. We are interested in the experiences you have had, when using gas engineers. BIFM British Institute of Facilities Management. Facilities management is one of the fastest growing professions in the UK. Facilities managers are responsible for many of the buildings and services which support businesses and other types of organisation. NSI The National Security Inspectorate (NSI) is an independent, not-for-profit approvals body providing inspection services for the security and fire industries. For over 30 years, NSI has been protecting the customer by insisting on the highest standards and operating the toughest inspection regime. Companies are inspected regularly by highly qualified, full-time inspectors, to prove their ongoing competence. NSI’s Customer Care support process reinforces the reliability and integrity of the companies it inspects. BICSI BICSI is a professional association supporting the information transport systems (ITS) industry with information, education and knowledge assessment for individuals and companies. BICSI serves more than 25,000 ITS professionals, including designers, installers and technicians. These individuals provide the fundamental infrastructure for telecommunications, audio/video, life safety and automation systems. ROSPA RoSPA's mission is to enhance the quality of life by exercising a powerful influence for accident prevention. Constructionline Constructionline/NPQS – A new form of efficiency Constructionline is the UK's register of pre-qualified local and national construction and construction-related contractors and consultants. CHAS Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme. Local authority health and safety and contract professionals, supported by the Health and Safety Executive, have developed the Contractor Health and Safety (CHAS) Assessment Scheme over recent years. It is now available for any public sector organisation to use in their pre-qualification process for contractor application for approved/select list or short-listing. It provides information relating to the health and safety element of the application only. It should be noted that RIBSD are now an accredited member of CHAS. http://www.chas.gov.uk

OFTEC Oil Firing Technical Association, OFTEC looks after the oil heating and cooking industry throughout the UK and Ireland. Our mission is ‘promoting excellence in oil heating and cooking’. On the one hand we are a trade association responsible for maintaining high standards of appliance manufacture, and on the other we maintain the only Government register of ‘Competent Persons’ who are qualified to work on oil fired heating and cooking appliances. The Royal Warrant Holders Association History of The Royal Warrant From earliest times tradesmen and women have served their sovereign by providing goods and services – from making robes and regalia to repairing roofs and painting walls. The first rewards for this loyal service came in the form of Royal Charters which were granted to the trade guilds, later known as livery companies. The earliest recorded Royal Charter was granted to the Weavers’ Company in 1155 by Henry II.
